Position Details Job Number: 26-2023 Category: Security Title: Office of Protection Services Director 2023 - Date Posted: 06-27-2023 13:32 PM Description: You will have some of the following responsibilities: •Provide security and protection within a multicultural environment, to STRI staff and visitors, as well as providing physical protection to all STRI facilities, throughout the Republic of Panama, including remote and forested areas.•Coordinate the protection and safeguard services, at an executive level, for all international visitors, including distinguished dignitaries and major donors.•Establishing permanent contact with the competent authorities that oversee law and public order, whether local or international, to evaluate any conditions that could affect STRI personnel and operations. Act as liaison between STRI and these agencies, including the US Embassy, FBI, and DEA.•Evaluate, in coordination with the National Police, DIJ or the National Security Council, all security situations in sensitive areas of the country, in order to establish specific preventive measures.•Inspect STRI's facilities in Panama, to check their security and protection, and bring recommendations, if necessary. Assess existing security services at those sites. To be successful in this role, you should meet the following requirements: •Bachelor's degree in law enforcement, business management, or related field required.•+7 years of experience in Security, Safety or related areas (required).
- Advanced training or certification in safety and security preferred.•Proven and verifiable management and supervisory skills. (required)•Advanced verbal and written communication skills in English and Spanish, and the ability to work with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community.•Skill in examining and re-engineering operations and procedures, formulating policy, and developing and implementing new strategies and procedures.
