Based in our food lab at Science Park II, you will be tasked with the development work of snacks portfolio. You will be involved in the creation and development of new snacks as well as improvements through safe operation of equipment and analytical instruments. This involves coordinating maintenance of equipment and analytical instruments, sample preparation and ingredient analysis.
HERE’S A TASTE OF WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING
Lab Management
Manage raw and packaging material stock availability for the preparation of food lab scale prototype.- Maintain food lab equipment and analytical instruments, organizing preventive and corrective maintenance with the appropriate vendors. Request quotations and organize payments to vendors following Kellogg procedures.
- Coordinate and manage logistics of food samples to external testing laboratories.
Technical Operator
Operates food lab equipment and analytical instruments to support R&D personal in work related to bench-food lab scale prototype development.- Provide training and assistance to new users. Support in coaching intern on lab tasks and equipment usage.
- Support R&D in sample preparation and ingredient analyses
Safety & Sanitation champion
Ensure lab complies with Kellogg safety as well as local industry safety standards. Communicate potential deviations to supervisor for proper mitigation.- Ensure lab complies with all food safety requirements and monitoring programs (micro analysis, surface swabs etc)
YOUR RECIPE FOR SUCCESS
Degree / Diploma in Food Technology, or other science related backgrounds.
- Some experience in a lab environment is ideal, either through internships or early careers.
- EHS considerations: Comfortable working near heat (frying, syrup prep and baking), allergens and dietary requirements.
- Able to prioritize and plan activities for efficient completion, meeting deadlines and considering competing priorities (eg. Equipment maintenance)
- Possess the ability to comprehend and communicate technical concepts and results.
- Meticulous, independent and a self-starter.
- Some travel is required to manufacturing, supplier or testing facilities.
