MANAGER: MEDIA TECHNOLOGY AND OPERATIONS IN THE SCHOOL OF JOURNALISM AND MEDIA STUDIES
The School of Journalism and Media Studies is seeking to appoint a Manager: Media Technology and Operations and invites suitably qualified candidates to join our vibrant and dynamic team of professionals where you can realise the possibility of being in a unique space where you and your work matters.

PURPOSE
To manage and co-ordinate the enhancement and update of technologies specialised for the needs of the School of Journalism. To capacitate specific media production projects and platforms by assisting relevant staff with activities such as budget oversight, resource management and the maintenance of regulatory compliance.

Requirements
Appropriate B. Degree or Diploma (NQF level 7) in a relevant media technology field, plus approximately 6 years’ relevant experience where such experience includes: -
  • Previous experience in Media Technology and its operation within a computerized ICT environment
  • At least 3 years management/supervision experience.
  • Previous experience in compiling and managing budgets.
  • Proven experience in assisting with the formulation and implementation of technology requirements.
  • Proven experience in managing projects.
  • Proven experience in service delivery in a technology environment

Remuneration per annum (Grade 15):
Basic Salary Per Annum: R606,760.00
Cost to Company Approximately Per Annum: R797,735.00
