We are looking for a suitable candidate to join our team in Discoveries.
This role in Discoveries would ideally suit an early years educator who is dedicated to providing quality, inclusive child care, in a warm, nurturing and supportive environment. We are looking for a motivated educator to inspire and be part of a great team who work with children from 6months – 5years. This is a full time role however, a job share may be considered
Requirements
- A minimum (or equivalent to) of NFQ Level 5 in Early Childhood Care and Education.
- Good organisational and teamwork skills
- Sound written and verbal communication skills
- A good understanding of Siolta and Aistear
- A kind, fun and nurturing disposition
- A love of working with pre-school children
- Motivated to participate in CPD
- Living in Ireland and available for interview
- Eligible to work in Ireland
Responsibilities
- Work as part of a team and be committed to challenging and resolving any difficulties
- Support staff, including any students working in the room
- Share openly and willingly without prejudice
- Communicate constructively and listen actively
- Participate in the development and delivery of curriculum founded on the centre's philosophies whilst following childcare regulations and Síolta and Aistear Quality Frameworks
- Create positive learning environments including resources based on child-directed learning
- Engage in continuing Continual Professional Development (CPD)
- Develop strategies to guide positive children's behaviour
- Build good, open communication with children, families, and staff
- Observe and record children's growth, development, and behaviour
- Observe and record children to create meaningful learning experiences based on children's interests, strengths and needs
- Ensure the learning environment is clean, hygienic, and safe
- Help develop teaching goals for the centre
- Undertake administrative tasks as required
- Ensure confidentiality
- Collaborate with team to create a monthly newsletter regarding the activities in the room to share with parents
- Model meaningful interactions with children, colleagues, and parents
