Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 4 years of experience in software development in developing in C/C++.
  • 3 years of experience in developing, testing, and deploying for Android Board Support Packages (BSP), Linux device drivers, Linux kernel modules, or FreeRTOS drivers/modules.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Master’s degree or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or other technical related field.
  • Experience in linux kernel development, power management, performance tuning, device driver/HAL development, FreeRTOS drivers/modules, or Android system optimization.
  • Excellent technical documentation and verbal/written communication skills in Mandarin and English.

The Pixel Watch System Software team designs and builds premium devices and services that showcase the potential of the Android and WearOS platform. We are driven to revolutionize the way people interact with newer and smarter devices with Android and WearOS platform. As the Firmware Engineer, you will develop the system software stack for future devices, ranging from architecting, designing, developing, testing, and deploying complex consumer devices.


Responsibilities

  • Work with a team of engineers to design and implement the system software stack for Google devices.
  • Design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain the drivers, HALs, and frameworks for the software features on Google WearOS devices.
  • Create validation tools and test cases to verify the functionality of the hardware and software.
  • Optimize and improve software quality, including system stability, power consumption, and system performance.
