Job Summary
As we settle into the new year make a change in your career by joining Absa CIB as a Digital Product Manager for Carbon Banking. This role provides a unique opportunity to combine deep client and colleague insights and emerging technology to enhance the value we deliver to clients. This role will be focused on defining the client and product strategies to build Absa CIB’s Carbon Banking proposition from initiation to integrated business across CIB and offering services to other internal group Business Units. Close collaboration with Clients, Coverage, Product Teams, Design Teams, Tech and Operational Teams will be required to co- create solutions. This role is perfect for a person with an entrepreneurial and pioneering mindset, who thrives in a fast-paced environment, and is energised by the possibility of how new technologies can transform our client’s experience in banking, grow a new revenue stream from scratch and also help clients and Absa achieve our carbon targets as part of our broader ESG strategy.
Job Description
Key Accountabilities
  • Formulate strategy on carbon banking and utilisation of carbon offsets in partnership with client, product, risk and ESG teams.
  • Understand the global landscape (opportunities, regulations) of production and supply of carbon offsets as tools to achieve carbon neutral targets
  • Understanding emerging technology trends/breakthroughs (For example: digital assets and blockchain), keep abreast of influencing factors in relevant security risks/new development.
  • Evaluate solutions that enable a client and colleague eco-system, provides differentiation.
  • Create platforms to engage with strategic clients on co-creating solutions.
  • Using deep insight into the needs of our clients and a deep understanding of our own operational / business processes and how these can be optimised.
  • Business case: prepare and present initiatives which support key strategic objectives, both for SA and ARO.
  • Drive the financial metrics in partnership with client and product.
  • Drive engagement across coverage and product to position Absa’s capabilities with clients and increase usage of carbon offsets.
  • Partner with change team to train and support sales enablement and coverage teams, including client facing materials
  • Provide input to marketing teams on content for positioning omni-channel capability.
  • Provide thought leadership to CIB and wider group on carbon banking
  • Analytics: Utilise existing solution usage analysis to better understand the clients’ value chain/business processes i.e., develop deep client insight. Use these insights to identify/innovate opportunities to provide solutions that will create client value
Education and Experience Required
  • B-degree preferred
  • 5-8 years’ experience in the financial industry (Knowledge in Corporate and Markets Banking)
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in client facing roles, relationship management / sales.
Experience that will be an advantage
  • Exposure to emerging technology – i.e., CRM, Blockchain, DLT, Artificial Intelligence, Smart contracts
  • Ability to co-ordinate to solve problems across multi-functional and diverse teams.
  • Strong orientation to driving strategy execution
  • Existing knowledge of Carbon Offsets preferred
Education
Bachelor`s Degrees and Advanced Diplomas: Business, Commerce and Management Studies (Required)
