We are looking for a Director of Provider Relations in the Academic & Government Library Software Content Operations organization will oversee the Provider Relations team in collaborating with academic content providers in the educational technology industry. You will coordinate projects around strategic outreach to providers regarding new content, metadata quality, and customer support. You will lead transparency and collaboration efforts to make it easier for providers to work with us.
About You – experience, education, skills, and accomplishments

5+ years of managing a global team
-
5+ years of experience in bookselling, sales, or publishing, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Work experience in library / publishing / higher education industry
-
Knowledgeable of bibliographic metadata standards (e.g., MARC, BIBFRAME, RDA, FRBR) or aspects of electronic resource management within a library setting
-
Bachelors’ degree or higher in related field, such as English,
It would be great if you also had . . .

Degree in Information Science and/or Library Science – an advantage

Experience in academic, electronic content publishing and/or library technology institutions

Experience with/knowledge of Ex Libris products and systems

Project management and/or product management experience

Client Relationship / Vendor Management

Multiple language skills
What will you be doing in this role?
-
Build & manage relationships with metadata providers, including publishers, aggregators, & other relevant industry players

Lead team strategy for outreach to all sizes of publishers to improve the breadth and quality of metadata within Ex Libris systems.

Educate providers on the minimum criteria and quality of metadata to have their content ingested and maintained in Ex Libris products.

Promote ongoing communicate and visibility with publishers and customers regarding their content.

Track and manager content support incidents that require provider outreach and communication.

Foster a collaborative, community mindset between Ex Libris, providers and our mutual clients.

Think strategically about emerging areas, technology & metadata in a rapidly changing market in order to build efficiencies into work processes

Identify system and workflow inefficiencies and/or error states and drive for change.

Foster an inclusive, “lessons learned” mentality for the team and organization.

Excellent researching and problem-solving skills, including the ability to analyze, compare, evaluate, reconcile and order data

Work effectively and flexibly and retain composure under pressure of deadlines
