ABOUT THE PROJECT
We are looking for skilled individuals for the Wholesale Client Services Team. The team is responsible for onboarding solutions for external clients and workflow for internal users.
The role will focus on supporting the migration of a number of different products to a new GKE environment, whilst maintaining ways of working focused on high release cadence, zero downtime, and home-built solutions to solving problems.
This offer is aimed at people who are eager to work in a team where you will be expected to take full ownership of the end-to-end delivery process, from the inception of an idea to deployment to production, and who will come to the table with ideas and solutions, challenging existing preconceptions of what good looks like.
YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES
- Delivering change to production daily.
- Working closely with the wider development team and product owners to build solutions suited to business needs.
- Providing production support for the day-to-day running of the products you are building.
- Building and maintaining distributed containerized platforms in production.
- Reviewing, designing, and re-engineering processes with new technologies to improve performance.
- Supporting knowledge sharing in the GKE space to help the whole team develop skills to support our infrastructure.
- Working closely with a globally distributed team to ensure round-the-clock support and development of our products.
SKILLS & EXPERIENCE WE REQUIRE
- Fluency in English,
- CICD: Hands-on experience in enabling technologies, principles, and practices of Continuous Integration, Delivery, and Deployment – we look to build a lot of our tooling from scratch, so an appetite to develop new tools is invaluable.
- Hands-on experience in platform and systems architecture – particularly driving architectural decisions, working with microservices, containerization of microservices, building cloud-native applications from scratch, or modifying existing applications to be cloud-ready.
- Cloud Native Technologies: GKE, GCP, Docker.
- JVM tuning and diagnostic for application troubleshooting and performance optimization,
- Traditional Technologies: Bash/Shell, Java, Unix/Linux, GitHub.
- Cloud infrastructure/services (particularly Google Cloud Platform),
- Strong understanding of technology layers in application landscape, storage, OS, network, database, application,
- Demonstrable, excellent, spoken & written communication skills across global organizations,
- Proven triage capability under pressure, able to make strong priority judgments at runtime balancing contending demands,
- Technically inquisitive with a progressive interest in modern engineering disciplines and techniques,
- Understanding customers' needs and delivering excellent customer service,
- Making prompt and practical business decisions, even in times of ambiguity, considering various perspectives, and taking responsibility for outcomes,
- Experience in Agile/ DevOps environment and in assisting in production support.
