Are you a strong science enthusiast? Do you love a little vitamin C? Louis Dreyfus Company Belgium is looking for you then as a new colleague in the lab team! As a lab assistant you are part of the Quality Control team based in Ghent. The entire terminal is your work area, given the wide variety of daily tasks. In the beginning we will offer you a thorough training program, after which you will be able to perform all common QC tasks independently.
Along with the below listed responsibilities, the employee should conduct any other business related to the function as required by her or his supervisor.
- Organizing and performing quality control on incoming bulk and drum cargoes by ship or truck/container: determining Brix, acidity, density, vitamin C, pulp, oil, cell content....
- Organizing and performing sampling on ships, tank farm, ...
- Performing microbiological analyses
- Identifying quality problems
- Ensuring that hygiene and safety rules are respected
- Monitoring CIP installation: determining concentrations of peracetic acid, lye....
- Water treatment (sampling, analysis, data interpretation, etc.)
- Registering - creating - sending samples to customers in consultation with sales
- Keeping the internal quality system up to date
- You can work in a structured and organized way
- If you are fluent in Dutch this is a plus, but English is also a good starting point
- You are flexible and adapt easily to your work environment
