It’s Work That Matters.
Position Summary: The Medical Technical Writer will be primarily responsible for research writing for the Division of Ophthalmology at Children's Hospital Los Angeles (CHLA), providing project direction, and composition, editing and organization of specific documents in consultation with the project physician, statistician and other team members as appropriate. Responsible for timely preparation of grant applications, scientific manuscripts, clinical regulatory documents, progress reports, response documents and IND/CTA or global regulatory submission documents, ensuring high-quality scientific content and adherence to regulatory and internal guidelines, styles and processes. The individual will also assist CHLA's Research Communications Department in producing medical research content.
Minimum Qualifications: 2+ years of experience related to medical research/technical writing preferred with working knowledge of regulatory requirements and best practices. Ability to understand and interpret clinical and scientific data; ability to define data presentation to meet the clinical team's key messages; knowledge of current regulatory requirements and guidelines applicable to human subjects research and good clinical practice; proficient in journal-style scientific writing, formatting, and citing references.
Education/Licensure/Certifications: BA or BS in Science, Communications, English or a related field; An advanced degree (e.g., PhD, PharmD, MS, MA, MPH) is preferred.
Pay Scale Information: USD $52,208.00 - USD $90,178.40
