Fund Services Middle Office is designated to facilitate the provision of services to the client in a consistent manner irrespective of the clients underlying. Our strategy is to support the integration of our clients' chosen Front Office software by enabling the efficient transfer of data between the client and HSBC and ensuring an operationally seamless end to end model.

The Opportunity:

The role is responsible for the delivery of Investment Operations services to multiple Middle Office clients, in particular Settlements and Cash Payments within agreed quality, timing and output targets. The role involves contact with client and other external parties such as broker and custodians. The job holder is responsible for ensuring trades and payments are settled on value date and the follow up of queries to ensure prompt resolution.

What you’ll do:

  • Assist with matching of security trades based on details received from client and broker/counterparties
  • Assist with monitoring trade matching process, ensure all exceptions fully resolved with client/broker and any issues are fully documented within the system
  • Assist with confirming accurate and timely update of all transaction types to the A&V system to ensure valuation deadlines are met
  • Assist with issuing settlement instructions for trades to custodians within agreed timescales
  • Assist with following up of queries with clients/brokers/custodians to ensure prompt resolution
  • Assist to ensure relevant logs are maintained and managed appropriately to agreed service definitions
  • Assist in the documentation, development and maintenance of procedures and controls to ensure ongoing compliance with industry and regulatory changes and requirements.
  • Assist to ensure accurate and relevant MI is produced within the required timescales
  • Assist with project and system change activity within the team, attending relevant meetings where required, following up on action points, updating Task Lists and keeping the Manager and team up to date with progress. When required, assist to review current systems and investigate alternatives. Recommend any changes/ process efficiencies and assist team with smooth implementation of any project or system change activity.
  • Assist to provide cover for other administrators in the team/ settlements department area when required.
Requirements

  • University Graduate
  • Excellent attention to detail

  • Ability to plan and organise own workload to meet deadlines, taking into account relative priorities.

  • Desire to achieve service excellence which is recognised by all HSS clients, competitors and industry bodies

What additional skills will be good to have?

  • Investment Operations Certificate from the CISI or an equivalent qualification
  • Knowledge and industry experience within the below is desirable:

  • Familiar and conversant with Custodians and Brokers
