The position at a glance

Inspection Générale (the internal audit department of BNP Paribas) has an audit line dedicated to Financial Security (AML/KYC and Sanctions, as well as the related Governance & Permanent Control). The objectives of this audit line are to provide reasonable assurance that Group affiliates have an effective Governance, Risk Management and Internal Control (GRC) framework to ensure compliance with US, EU, French and group regulations and policies with respect to Anti-Money Laundering/KYC and International Financial Sanctions. The audit line consists of three teams: EMEA, APAC and Americas, which own coverage of their respective regions. The Americas team primarily performs assignments in Brazil, Colombia, Argentina, Mexico, Canada and the US (New York).


In detail

Candidates will be measured on the following four performance drivers which will dictate how individual impact is considered on the Americas platform:

Responsibilities:

1. Primarily ensure proper coordination with local audit Hub in order to secure an adequate coverage of financial security topics for BNPP CIB US aligned with local US Regulatory expectations.

2. Perform on-site audit reviews related to AML/ KYC and International Financial Sanctions ensuring compliance with BNPP and local regulatory requirements primarily for North America. Contribution to LATAM countries may be necessary on an ad-hoc basis.

4. Deliver presentations to senior management.

5. Follow-up of recommendation in the audit tool. Ensure proper review of supporting documents and that feedback is properly provided to auditee;

7. Collaborate with the continuous monitoring reporting process and annual audit risk assessment for CIB US audit units


The strengths and skills that will help you succeed

  • Graduate degree, finance or business related majors.
  • 4+ years’ experience in external or internal audit
  • Experience working knowledge of banking products & services
  • 3+ years’ experience in Compliance, especially in Financial Security.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • High level of detail orientation and organization.
  • Flexibility to adapt to new changing environment.
  • Comfortable with 20% or more travel in a year.
  • Team player with demonstrated track record in self-initiative.
  • Knowledge on data analytics and data manipulation
  • Strong analytical and investigative skills.
  • High time management skills
  • Capacity to work autonomously
  • Spanish and English speaker is highly necessary
