Job Title: Waiter
Job Description:
A Waiter is responsible for ensuring that customers have a satisfying dining experience. The primary duties of the waiter include welcoming and seating guests, taking food and drink orders, delivering orders accurately and timely, and providing an exceptional overall dining experience.

Key Responsibilities:- Greet and escort customers to their tables.
- Present the menu and provide detailed information when asked (e.g. about portions, ingredients, or potential food allergies).
- Prepare tables by setting up linens, silverware, and glasses.
- Take accurate food and drink orders, using a POS ordering software, order slips, or by memorization.
- Serve food and drink orders and ensure they meet the restaurant's quality standards.
- Check dishes and kitchenware for cleanliness and presentation and report any problems.
- Carry dirty plates, glasses, and silverware to the kitchen for cleaning.
- Meet with restaurant staff to review daily specials, changes on the menu, and service specifications for reservations (e.g., parties).
- Arrange table settings and maintain a tidy dining area.
- Provide excellent customer service to guests and handle customer complaints professionally.
Qualifications:
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Proven experience as a Waiter or similar role.
- Hands-on experience with cash handling and ordering information system (e.g., Revel POS or Toast POS), a plus.
- Basic math skills and attentiveness to handle cash and financial transactions accurately.
- Excellent presentation skills and ability to build a rapport with customers.
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills, with the ability to perform well in a fast-paced environment.
- Active listening and effective communication skills.
- Flexibility to work in shifts, weekends, and holidays.
- Physical strength and stamina to carry heavy trays and stand for long hours.
- Food safety training may be a requirement.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience in an upscale or fine dining establishment.
- Familiarity with hospitality industry standards.
- Proficiency in a second language is a plus.
- Knowledge of wines and ability to suggest food pairings.
