1. Scope of Position
As a Heavy Equipment Loader Driver in the anthracite industry, your primary role will be to operate heavy machinery to load and transport anthracite coal and related materials. You will work in coal mines, processing plants, or other facilities involved in the extraction, processing, and transportation of anthracite coal.
2. Key Responsibilities
- Safely operate heavy equipment loaders to load anthracite coal into trucks, railcars, or conveyor systems for transportation.
- Efficiently maneuver and drive the equipment in and around the mining or processing areas to load materials.
- Perform pre-operational checks on the equipment, including inspecting brakes, hydraulics, tires, and other essential components, to ensure proper functioning and report any issues to the supervisor.
- Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment, including wearing personal protective equipment (PPE) and following established procedures for operating heavy machinery in the anthracite industry.
- Maintain and inspect the loader equipment regularly to ensure cleanliness, proper functionality, and compliance with safety standards.
- Collaborate with other team members, such as truck drivers, equipment operators, and supervisors, to ensure smooth coordination and efficient workflow.
- Follow instructions from supervisors or mine managers regarding work assignments, coal specifications, and loading procedures.
- Monitor and control the loading process to ensure accurate and optimal loading of anthracite coal, adhering to weight limitations and proper distribution within the transportation medium.
- Assist in the maintenance and repair of equipment as needed, including performing routine greasing, lubrication, and minor adjustments.
- Comply with environmental regulations and company policies related to waste management, spill prevention, and other relevant aspects.

3. Position Specification
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Previous experience operating heavy equipment loaders in the mining or similar industries, preferably in anthracite coal operations.
- Knowledge of safety protocols and procedures specific to the anthracite industry, including MSHA (Mine Safety and Health Administration) regulations.
- Understanding of coal properties, including size specifications, moisture content, and loading techniques to ensure quality control.
- Physical strength and stamina to operate heavy equipment for extended periods and work in demanding environments.
- Strong hand-eye coordination and spatial awareness to maneuver large machinery in tight spaces.
- Good communication skills to effectively coordinate with team members and supervisors in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team, depending on the job requirements.
- Flexibility to work in varying weather conditions, underground mines, and other challenging work environments associated with the anthracite industry.
- Willingness to undergo additional training or certification, including MSHA certification, as required.
